Together for a better Internet, that is the motto of the "Safer Internet Day" (SID). Since 2004, institutions, associations, companies and individuals have been committed to greater online safety and a better Internet for young people and children.
The global day of action was launched by the European Commission and takes place every year on the second day, in the second week of February.
The good thing about SID is that everyone can make a contribution. From making reference to the Day of Action, for example in social media channels or in the newsletter, to workshops, lectures, discussion groups or competitions. There are no limits to creativity, anything that increases sensitivity for a safe Internet is welcome.
Schools participate with information events for pupils, teachers and parents, media report on the various activities and companies support the distribution of information material.
More information and suggestions on how you too can get involved can be found at www.saferinternet.org.
